Welcome to Brandon, Florida's largest unincorporated community! Are you looking for Brandon real estate? Ideally situated for easy access to Tampa, St. Petersburg, and Lakeland, there are always plenty of things to do in Brandon.

Get outdoors

One thing Floridians love about their state is the mild winters, which enable them to get outdoors and play all year round. Of course, the summers are hot, so if you get out to explore any of these places, bring plenty of water and sunscreen. Brandon has several parks with playgrounds, picnic areas, and sometimes trails.

The three most popular parks include Bertha and Tony Saladino Park, where you will find shaded walkways, baseball fields, basketball courts, and even a place for your furry four-legged friends to romp with other dogs. Perhaps the longest established park (and very popular for its giant oak trees and shade) is Paul Sanders Park, which also contains biking and walking trails and covered picnic pavilions. Finally, All Persons Rotary Park is an equal-access playground with a picnic pavilion and splash pad.

Natural areas have been preserved at Alafia Scrub Nature Preserve and Alderman Ford Nature Preserve. These two parks allow visitors to immerse themselves in Florida as it was before development and urbanization. Enjoy diverse habitats like marshlands, pine forests, coastlines, and more as you explore numerous hiking trails. Both destinations are popular for bird-watching, and if you’re lucky, you might also get a glimpse of some of the resident wildlife.

Learn something new

Many of Brandon and the surrounding area’s attractions have perfected the art of learning while having a great time with family and friends. That’s why doing something new is one of the best things to do in Brandon!

Fancy yourself a Picasso or a Monet? Attend a painting class at Painting with a Twist or Pinot’s Palette. You can sign up for a class or book a private event. Adult classes mix art and wine, while children's classes are great for birthday parties and other celebratory events. Florida wasn't always urban and filled with tourists. Not long ago, Florida was mostly rural, with small farming communities and simple living. Old Florida has been preserved at Cracker Country, a living history museum. Some 13 historical buildings have been gathered from the state and restored to their original condition. They are furnished with period furniture, and costumed docents help visitors of all ages understand what life was like in Florida 150 years ago. Makers’ workshops are available on occasion, as well as numerous special events.

Discover forces at work in our world at the Galactic Playgrounds. Four interactive stations focus on water, electricity, magnetism, and kinetic energy. Through experiments and activities, kids of all ages will learn the principles of physics and motion and have a great time while they are doing it.

Brandon loves its reptiles! They have two unique ways to celebrate these scaly creatures that are not to be missed when you look for things to do in Brandon. Take a trip back to when dinosaurs roamed the Earth at Dinosaur World. This unique outdoor paleontology museum contains over 150 life-size sculptures of dinosaurs in a habitat like what they were believed to live in. Kids will love the dinosaur-themed playground, and you are encouraged to bring snacks and even your four-legged family member.

And what visit to Florida would be complete without learning about and encountering the American alligator? Sure, Florida's native crocodilian is the star attraction at Croc Encounters. Still, during your tour, you may see turtles, tortoises, crocodilians, and amphibians. Croc Encounters offers educational programs, animal feedings, and private tours (with advance booking).

Ready to leave reptiles and Earth behind for a while? Head over to iFly indoor skydiving. Your adventure begins with gearing up in a flight suit and helmet, orientation, and some basic instructions, after which you enter the enormous wind tunnel. A guide will always deal with you to offer instructions and help you have an incredible experience as you learn to fly.

Adult night out

After all of these fun adventures with the kids, it's time for you to enjoy activities geared toward adults near Brandon real estate. Whether you are looking for a memorable date or fun out with a group of friends, there are plenty of options.

You’ve no doubt heard of ax-throwing, an increasingly popular stress-relieving and social activity. Try it out at Bury the Hatchet and see how close you can come to hitting the bullseye.

Are you a fan of craft beer? Bootlegger's Brewing Company is a local establishment offering a variety of ales, stouts, meads, and more (and wine, too!). World of Beer is a well-known franchise featuring dozens of beers worldwide and a carefully planned menu to pair with your favorite brews. Both offer a variety of craft beers and an excellent atmosphere for a relaxed time out with friends.

Are you feeling the need for a bit of rest? Book services for some peaceful alone time, a romantic experience with your partner, or a girls’ day out for pampering and relaxation at  Daydreams Day Spa or Divine Design Salon and Spa. Their skilled staff will help you melt stress and worries away, leaving you feeling youthful and energized.

Cigar enthusiasts and those looking to enjoy a good smoke in a relaxed lounge atmosphere will enjoy Cutters Cigar Bar. In addition to a walk-in humidor with hundreds of cigar options, an extensive drink menu offers a perfect wind-down at the end of the day.
