Fishhawk

Suburban living at its finest in a well-planned, intentional community.

Welcome to Fishhawk

Suburban living at its finest in a well-planned, intentional community

This unincorporated suburban area gets its name from Little Fishhawk Creek, an offshoot of the Alafia River. It was primarily a rural area until the 1990s when the Fishhawk Ranch and Fishhawk Trails planned communities were built. Today, it is a vibrant, bustling, and active place to live, but it still maintains a rural feel due to its many parks and open green spaces. Only about 20 miles from downtown Tampa, it offers the best of both worlds as a commuter town to the big city and a tree-lined suburb to relax at home.

Real estate includes large, opulent homes, luxury villas, posh townhouses, and upscale condominiums. Residents enjoy a quick drive to Tampa for its many boutiques, spas, fine-dining establishments, and posh shopping centers. Then they head back home to a more peaceful lifestyle that includes several large parks and nature preserves. Popular outdoor activities include hiking and biking, and the neighborhoods offer many pools, gyms, tennis courts, and recreation centers. As well, there are local delis, cafes, and bars.

What to Love

Local Lifestyle

For many people, suburban living is the American dream. The exciting amenities surrounding larger cities are always available for the adventurous, but they balance with the quiet nature of wide-open green space in a well-planned suburb. Fishhawk residents have access to local community centers, fitness centers, neighborhood shopping, and walking trails. Locals catch up on gossip and buy the freshest produce and artisan foods and crafts at the Fishhawk Farmers Market.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

You can start your day right with traditional biscuits n gravy at The Scrambled Egg. Over at Fishhawk Pizza, residents love getting New York-style pizza in sunny Florida while kicking back and watching television or playing a game in the game room.

A coffee lover’s dream can be found at the Chill Cawfee, a packed coffeehouse with excellent coffee and tea products. For authentic Japanese cuisine, the best-kept secret in town is the Sunflower Cafe, and be sure to try their tempura dinner.

The Lithia Springs Conservation Park is a popular place for camping, hiking, and swimming. It’s known for the clean, fresh spring that flows through to the picturesque Alafia River.

Over at the Park Square retail center, residents enjoy fitness centers, restaurants, and shopping. Market days, food truck rallies, art camps, parades, movie nights, and more are available through the Fishhawk Ranch Community Development District planning office.
